Most manufacturers of phone systems claim to offer integration to computers and PCs as well as databases. This is known as C.T.I. or to give it its full title computer-telephony-integration. But there are claims that it is over-sold and under ready for the intended market. Almost all phone systems have a telephony application programming interface - more commonly referred to as TAPI, but until now there was an inherent and costly requirement for integrator effort to create the necessary middleware
