CHINESE NEW YEAR AT
PARK REGIS KRIS KIN HOTEL, DUBAI

To celebrate the Chinese New Year and welcome in the Year of the Dragon, the Kris restaurant at the Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai will be featuring dining with a difference – where guests can toss their food around to gain good luck.

A vital part of any New Year celebration, Yu Sheng is a colourful salad of sliced fresh fish, crunchy vegetables and even fresh fruits, where the raw ingredients symbolise the renewal of life – and the Cantonese word for the fish sounds like the word for prosperity.

Tradition calls for the ingredients to be mixed using chopsticks and then tossed in the air, as high as possible, while everyone at the table calls out lo hei in a chant for good fortune.

At the Kris restaurant, starting on the first day of the Chinese New Year on January 23 and running for a week, Yu Sheng will be available in a special promotion priced at AED70 for two or AED130 for four.

In addition, a special menu is available featuring Yu Sheng, plus Hot and Sour soup, Peking Duck, Black Pepper Prawns and Passion Fruit Meringue, priced at AED400 for two persons.

“The dragon is the fifth sign of the Chinese zodiac, bringing power, good luck, success and happiness, and with a little help from the Yu Sheng tradition, we hope all our guests will enjoy prosperity this year,” said Scott Butcher, General Manager of the Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai.

Located on the 19th floor of the hotel in Bur Dubai, the Kris restaurant features a chic wine and cocktail lounge, walk-in wine cellar, intimate table settings and a refined Oriental décor to match the elegance of the cuisine.
