In a repeat of its successful participation in the Can Collection Day organised by Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) in February, staff from the Holiday Inn Dubai - Al Barsha once again volunteered their time to assist in efforts to clean up Dubai and improve the environment for everyone.
The event took ?place on the morning of May 7 at Zabeel Park in Dubai, and a team from the hotel included senior management as well as volunteers from the engineering, housekeeping, human resources, marketing and front office departments.
Cans were collected in advance from homes, shops, restaurants, parks and the hotel, and the aim is to focus on the need to highlight recycling as an alternative to littering drink cans.
According to Reda Moukhtar, General Manager of the Holiday Inn Dubai - Al Barsha, the initiative combines the property's aims to act green and to link in with the local community: ?We are constantly looking at green innovations in the hotel, but in this instance, we want to make our own contribution to caring for the environment in Dubai, ? he said.
?The work of the EEG is inspirational and I hope that events such as these will prompt more recycling and care and concern for the environment to make Dubai a better place to live and to visit. ?
