Choco-Logo's Wassail Truffle Makes Chocolate Sing:
Commemorative Label Honors Goo Goo Dolls bassist Robby Takacs
When Chocolatier Dan Johnson, owner of Choco-Logo Confectionery Design created his Wassail Truffle, he knew it was the perfect blend of sweet spicy chocolate-y sass...and the perfect product to benefit Music is Art, a charity founded by Goo Goo Dolls bassist Robby Takac.
"Wassail is a traditional punch served at the holidays," says Johnson, "The original recipe used hot mulled cider and savory spices like nutmeg and cloves. The key was the balance of sweetness and spice with a little kick...just like Robby and Music is Art, making music accessible to everyone is sweet and having the gumption to do it gives it the kick."
Dan will debut his Wassail Truffles in a custom-created collectors box at the Music is Art benefit event held at Choco-Logo's Factory Shop on Tuesday, December 15. The event is called Chocolate Passion and it's become Choco-Logo's signature event for its cause-related marketing program. "Chocolate Passion is a wine tasting and chocolate pairing event and tour of our working factory," says Johnson. Proceeds from the paid reservations benefit Music is Art and so will a percentage of shop sales that evening. "The Wassail Truffles are the showpiece of the evening," says Johnson. "The packaging we created features Robby and is a must-have for collectors and Goo fans everywhere."
Previously Johnson created "Pezzy Up the Bark," a dark chocolate bark spiked with dried cherries and bit of cherry Pez to honor Robby's legendary collection of Pez dispensers.
